Playing with Frida Kahlo

 Kindergarten of A' Kolossiou Apostolou Louka - Cyprus

Students of A' Kolossiou Apostolou Louka Kindergarten, played with board game, "Where is my parrot Bonito?".  It was a great game thanks to the cooperative work of all schools.  Thank you all my friends, we had a great time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

During the project, many partners, schools and students, paid special attention and elaborated more to the following activities:

Frida's on line games


Collaborative fairytale

The processing of Frida's Kahlo painting 'The Bus Station' using artful thinking routines was the cause of the innovative and collaborative fairytale written by the students of partners schools : Metamorfosis's 4th Kindergarten and Amisiana's Kindergarten .


Frida Kahlo's Portraits

Kindergarten students  of Amisiana were excited with the painter Frinda Kahlo and they decided to make her portrait!



Geometry in painting portraits. -1st Experimental Likovrisi

We have painted the portaits based on two vertical axes on a blank white paper. We used oil paintings and water colour paintings.

Frida and Parents' Involvement - My little weakness my super strength

Our 5th mission was to involve as far as we could parents. We ask of our students' parents to give us their feedback and share their personal experience on the weaknesses and strengths.

Frida's board game

Our 4th mission was the creation of elements from Frida's Life, frida's house, frida's animals etc. We used all the creations and made an e-board game.

The concept and the game were so successful that many schools have printed a hard copy of the board and we play the game in the class.

Frida Mission Two - Thinking Routines

For our second mission we used thinking routines to interpret Frida's artwork and create stories together with another partner.

Frida's Slogan - Viva la Vida

In this next activity we got inspired by the life and work of the artist and created our own slogan, each school and country with the material that suited us best.

A christmas card

One of the missions of this project was the creation of our self-portait, inspired by Frida's paintings. This activity tokk place before the new year, in order to create a universal christmas card that included all of our children portraits.

A Christmas Card for you

All together we have come so far. With all our portraits, in the style of Frida Kahlo, we have created a mosaic. A special card with our wish of a better New Year, with a world in peace, with more love and friendship.
